TIE

I talked to my CT today about my next lesson plan. I asked her what subject she thinks would be best to tie in VoiceThread and she suggested math. I will be discussing multiplication in word problems with my 5th graders. Their desks are arranged in sets of 4 or 5 so I will select one from each table to explain how they solved a particular problem. I haven't quite decided how I am going to go about teaching them to use VoiceThread. I'm thinking of using Dr. Elwood's idea. She suggested that we pull a select few students aside one day and teach them step by step how to work it. I'm looking forward to seeing how it all works out. Will they understand my directions? I sure hope so!

  1. I'm not sure where the "pull a few aside and teach them step by step" thought came in, other than teach a couple of peer tech leaders to take on that role with assistance from a visual protocol posted as a poster near the computers. It is better to use the collaborative group station rotation or team reporting to open stations as discussed in the workshop.

  2. Last comment was from Dr. Elwood, but a previous student's Google sign-in was still on my computer.
